About Tropicalia

A boutique tropical villa in coastal Costa Rica. Forest, ocean, and a slow week.

About the villa

Tropicalia sits on twelve acres of secondary-growth rainforest, ten minutes from a Blue Flag beach. We built it slowly over four years, with local materials and local labor. Five cottages, never more than ten guests at once. We grow most of our own vegetables, raise our own chickens, and source the rest within fifteen miles. The pace is deliberate.

What we stand for

Slow hospitality

Seven-night minimum. The first three days are for resetting. The rest is for living.

Local sourcing

Vegetables from the garden. Fish from boats we know. Coffee from a co-op down the road.

Conservation tax

Every booking contributes to the regional sea turtle conservancy. Built into the rate.
